About Me

Hi, I am Elena Rossi — a food writer, recipe developer, and passionate home cook based in Florence, Italy. I have spent the last decade travelling the world, eating everything in sight, and translating those experiences into recipes anyone can cook at home.

This blog started as a personal journal in 2014 — a place to document the dishes I discovered at tiny trattorias, street markets, and grandmothers kitchens across Europe and Asia. What began as a private notebook quickly became a community of over 200,000 monthly readers who share the same belief: that food made with care and good ingredients is one of life greatest pleasures.

My Philosophy

I believe the best food is honest food. No shortcuts, no pretense. Just excellent ingredients treated with respect and technique learned over time. Every recipe on this blog has been tested in my home kitchen — sometimes dozens of times — before it earns its place here.

What You Will Find Here

From slow-cooked Sunday ragus that fill your home with warmth, to five-minute weeknight dinners that never feel like a compromise. Breakfast recipes worth waking up for. Desserts worth every calorie. And everything in between.

My Credentials

I trained at the Cordon Bleu in Paris, worked in restaurant kitchens in Rome and Tokyo, and have contributed recipes to Bon Appétit, Food52, and The Guardian. My first cookbook, Simple Italian, was published in 2022 and became a Sunday Times bestseller.
