The Ultimate Dark Chocolate Layer Cake with Ganache
Three layers of intensely dark, moist sponge sandwiched with silky ganache. The kind of cake that makes people go quiet at the table.
Ingredients
- 300g flour, 400g sugar, 100g cocoa
- 3 eggs, 300ml buttermilk, 300ml hot coffee
- 150ml vegetable oil
- 400g dark chocolate, 400ml cream for ganache
Method
Whisk dry ingredients. Combine wet ingredients. Mix together — batter will be thin. Bake in three 20cm tins at 175C for 30-35 minutes. Make ganache by pouring hot cream over chocolate. Cool, layer and frost.
